Pumpkin Potholder

Is it that time of year?
Full of Hayrides, Haunted Mazes,
and anything and everything
(Which some of my family love and
others not so much)
Before that time hits,
stop in over at

Thermoweb, where I am  showing how to make this pumpkin potholder.

You can download the pattern and read the directions on their blog.

The Nutcracker Christmas Row and a Giveaway

Marian at Seams to Be Sew decided that this year's
row along would have a Christmas theme.
Christmas time is one of my favorite times of the year.
So of course, I had to join in.
Go to her blog to get all the info about
this hop and giveaways HERE.

I first thought to do the 12 days of Christmas,
but then was totally unsure I
could fit all of the characters in one row.
Then, I thought of my children's love
for anything Nutcracker, so
here is my take on it.

The row is 12 1/2" x 36 1/2".
It is a combination of piecing and applique.
For any applique project, I always use
HeatnBond Lite, which you can purchase
many supplies here.

A great sponsor of this hop was
Northcott fabrics.  They have such a beautiful
selection of blender fabrics.
The face, boots, hair, and cheeks are all
from the TOSCANA Collection.

The rest of the fabrics are from
my giant stash that I am trying to make
a lot smaller.

If you would like a copy of the
pattern, please visit my Craftsy Page.
It will be free of charge until September 18th.
At that time, there will be a small fee.

And now how about a giveaway,
a beautiful bundle of fabrics from Michael Miller.
Remember, that the winner is responsible
for the shipping.
Please read any rules at Seams to be Sew

Please go and visit all of the
blogs that are also showing off their rows today.

Here is the whole schedule for the row along.

Lady of the Lake Quilt Along

Fat Quarter Shop is
having a fun Quiltalong.
I was to make just one block to
show off, but
I enjoyed the piecing of the one
block that I made a quilt.

The pattern is the

Lady of the Lake Quiltalong
created by the

Fat Quarter Shop
To make this quilt,
you can find the

FQS Video Tutorial Here
Free Block Pattern Here

They have a beautiful quilt kit
featuring The Good Life
by Bonnie and Camille.

I absolutely love the ease and vintage style
of this pattern.
It went perfectly with the fat quarter bundle of
Hello Jane from Windham and
some of Moda's Newspaper print fabric,
that has been in my stash for awhile.

Well, I  actually enjoyed piecing this quilt,
that I have blocks enough for a second that is not
yet completely pieced together.
Now, just to get the two finished and quilted
and ready for the winter month ahead of us.

I just found complete joy in creating this.
Stop in the Fat Quarter Shop
for the complete pattern.

Hello Jane Teacher Tote

If you are looking for
a fun little tote for a special teacher
or one for yourself,
I made a little tutorial
for Thermoweb showing you
how to do it.

I used these adorable fabrics
by Windham Fabrics.

They are a fun touch of vintage.
The fabric line is Hello Jane.

I decided to use the purple prints for this
cutie with a touch of green.
I quilted it with Aurifil #1243.

I also used cork for the bottom of the tote.
It was the first time that I used this material for any project.
It is so fashion forward and easy to work with.

Stop in at Thermoweb to see how to construct it.
